Lucknow: Brace for humid conditions from Thursday as the monsoon activity has weakened.According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it will take some time for the rainfall activity to revive, although there can be light to moderate thunder activity due to local reasons. The pinch was felt in the city on Wednesday itself. Despite a cloudy sky and a maximum temperature of 33.3 degrees Celsius, high relative humidity (between 62%-90%) pushed the real-feel temperature, making outdoor conditions uncomfortable for most of the day. The minimum temperature settled at 26.3 degrees Celsius, slightly above normal.Mohammad Danish, senior scientist at the Regional Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, said the monsoon trough line (an elongated low-pressure area), which was passing over UP, has shifted south, resulting in the weakening of monsoon in the state.“Only light to moderate rainfall is likely in some parts of the state over the next few days,” he said. Monsoon activity is expected to strengthen again from July 26 as favourable weather systems are likely to develop, leading to more widespread rainfall across the state, he added.Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Chitrakoot recorded 72 mm rainfall, Lalitpur 70 mm, Sonbhadra 58 mm, Prayagraj 41.5 mm, Bareilly 28 mm and Mathura 25 mm.
