Lucknow: Ahead of its 69th convocation on July 31, Lucknow University on Thursday launched Dikshotsav-2026, an eight-day cultural and academic festival inspired by an initiative of Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chancellor Anandiben Patel.The festival opened at Malaviya Hall, with students showing keen interest in the event.The first day witnessed four major competitions—essay writing, patriotic singing, traditional Indian attire showcase and instrumental music.The essay contest focused on themes related to India’s rise as the world’s fourth-largest economy and notable initiatives of the Central and the state govts.A rangoli exhibition prepared by students and a display of rare manuscripts by the Chambal Archives Trust emerged as major attractions.The competitions were judged by a panel of faculty members, while winners will be announced on the last day of the festival on July 30.
