Lucknow: Khatu Shyam Temple saw big turnout during the grand ‘Dhwaj’ procession held as part of pre-Holi celebrations on Thursday.The 7 km-long procession began from DAV College in Aishbagh and concluded at Shri Shyam temple on the Unnao bypass, passing through Ganeshganj, Kaiserbagh, Parivartan Chauraha and Hanuman Setu. Devotees accompanied the yatra with drumbeats, DJ music, kirtans and live tableaux.Temple general secretary Rupesh Agrawal said main attraction was a grand tableau of Shyam Baba, featuring a beautifully decorated idol adorned with colourful flowers. Devotees dressed in yellow and orange carried flags and raised slogans of ‘Jai Baba Shyam’. Community meals were organised at several points and prasad of laddoo and fruits was distributed. The temple sanctum was decorated with flowers brought from Kolkata and over 200 bells were installed.
