ED has taken custodial remand of Taman Singh Sonwani, a retired IAS who served as chairperson of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC), in an alleged case of paper leak and manipulation of CGPSC state service exam.Sonwani in 2021 allegedly amended recruitment rules of CGPSC to remove “nephew” from the definition of “family” and appointed his family members as deputy collector and DSP, according to ED.A special court in Raipur has remanded him to ED custody for seven days, till July 30 for further investigation. The former IAS officer was arrested on July 25.
