LUCKNOW: Former Uttar Pradesh minister and BJP leader Nanak Ram Bhurji died on Tuesday after falling from an upper floor behind the Darulshafa New MLA Residence complex in the Hazratganj area.Bhurji, 68, was a former minister of state and was associated with the BJP, news agency PTI reported.According to police, the officer in charge of the MLA residence complex informed the local police outpost that a man had fallen from an upper floor behind the legislators’ residential complex.Police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted Bhurji to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Preliminary inquiries revealed that Bhurji had been suffering from depression for a long time and was frequently seen moving around the MLA residence complex, police said.His family members have been informed.The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway.(With agency inputs)
