Lucknow: The UP govt on Tuesday approved a proposal to serve semolina halwa to students every Friday under the mid-day meal scheme.The decision was taken at an executive committee meeting of the Mid-Day Meal Authority, headed by chief secretary SP Goyal. Clearance was also accorded to a proposal to increase the honorarium of system analysts, mandal and janpad coordinators, and computer operators working under the Mid-Day Meal Authority by 10%. This is the first time their honorarium has been increased since 2016.The maximum age limit for working of system analysts, coordinators, computer operators, and other contractual personnel has been fixed at 60 years while the maximum age limit of cooks working in schools has been increased to 62 years.“As per Tuesday’s decision, semolina halwa will be served to students every Friday from Oct to Feb, which is a total of 14 days. Sweet halwa will be served on seven days and savoury on the remaining seven days. Cooks will be given an additional remuneration of Rs 2 per student per working day for preparing the halwa,” Goyal said.
