Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma’s struggle with form continued as he registered another duck and entered a list of Indian batters with the most ducks in a calendar year in T20s.During the IPL 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants, Abhishek was dismissed for a two-ball duck by Mohammed Shami. It was his sixth duck of 2026 in T20s, putting him alongside Rohit Sharma (six ducks in 2018) and Sanju Samson (six ducks in 2024) for the joint-most ducks by an Indian batter in a calendar year in the format, as per a report by news agency ANI.
Abhishek has had a slow start to IPL 2026, scoring 55 runs in three innings, with 48 of those coming against Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous match.The top-ranked T20 batter also had a difficult T20 World Cup, scoring 141 runs in eight innings at an average of 17.62 and a strike rate of over 158, including two half-centuries, one of which came in the final.
