Lucknow: Shocking details have emerged in the murder of Vishnu Yadav, 30, at his in-laws’ residence in Aashiana, where the accused initially attempted to mislead police and prevent them from entering the house.According to police sources, when officers reached the house in Sector I of Aashiana on receiving information, the accused tried to downplay the incident as a minor domestic dispute. The victim’s father-in-law, Teerthraj Singh, allegedly claimed that Vishnu suffered only minor injuries and insisted the matter would be resolved internally. The accused also tried to stop the police from entering the premises.Sensing foul play, the police forced entry into the house. During the search, they discovered Vishnu’s blood-soaked body lying in the porch, concealed under a car cover and partially hidden behind a vehicle. The condition of the body and disarrayed clothes indicated a brutal assault.Inside the house, the police found Vishnu’s wife, Sakshi, confined in a room with her legs tied to prevent her from informing anyone about the incident. She was rescued by the police team, which also recorded the situation on video. Sakshi, in a distressed state, told the police that her husband was mercilessly beaten by her family members. She alleged that she too was assaulted and forcibly restrained.Investigators suspect that the accused were preparing to dispose of the body. Police said the family asked them to return in the morning, indicating a possible plan to secretly transport and dump the body during the night. It was also found that the accused changed their clothes after the incident to hide bloodstains and were behaving normally to avoid suspicion.Police officials also revealed that there was prior tension between the families. In 2021, Sakshi’s father filed a case against Vishnu for allegedly eloping with his daughter. Another case involving abduction and other charges was registered in 2024, in which Vishnu was also jailed.During interrogation, the accused gave multiple conflicting versions of the incident. Initially, Teerthraj claimed that Vishnu and Sakshi entered the house in an intoxicated state and were fighting, alleging that Sakshi killed her husband. In another version, he stated that his younger brother Nanhe intervened in a dispute between the couple, which escalated, leading to Vishnu’s death, while he himself was asleep at the time.In yet another claim, Sakshi’s sisters alleged that Vishnu behaved inappropriately with them, and he sustained fatal injuries during a scuffle when they tried to intervene.Police said the sequence of events and statements was being verified, and further investigation is underway.
