Anthropic announced its largest compute commitment to date – multiple gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity from Google and Broadcom, expected online starting in 2027, with the vast majority located in the US. The business numbers justify the scale: run-rate revenue surpassed $30 billion, up from roughly $9 billion at the end of 2025, with over 1,000 customers spending more than $1 million annually. Anthropic now runs Claude across AWS Trainium, Google TPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs – a deliberately diversified hardware strategy that gives them leverage no single cloud provider can fully control. The deal deepens the Google Cloud relationship while AWS remains the primary training partner. Every frontier lab is now locking in multi-year compute commitments measured in gigawatts rather than GPU counts, and the infrastructure bets are starting to dwarf the model research costs.
