Lucknow: BSP president Mayawati on Sunday said it is pertinent for ‘bahujan samaj to win elections’ to fulfil their goals and aspirations. Addressing party workers from Bihar, MP and Chhattisgarh during a review of their state units held in Lucknow, she said, “If bahujans do not win, matters related to reservation and other welfare measures meant for the community will go from bad to worse, given the wrong policy and intent of govts run by the opposition parties.“She asked the three state units to ensure their people do not fall for the allurements that state govts extend before elections. “Dalits and other backward classes will have to remain united so that their votes do not get misused by the opposition parties,” she said.Mayawati said history shows that whenever and wherever her party has strengthened its hold, Dalits, tribals, OBCs and minority communities have benefitted immensely. She also recounted the work done by the BSP govt four times when it came to office in UP. “The need of the hour is to work diligently to achieve the missionary objectives of security, respect and identity for the bahujan, and achieve electoral success,” she said.
