Lucknow: Criticising the BJP govt in the state over submission of ‘technical resignation’ by IAS officer Rinku Singh for being denied meaningful responsibilities, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said the state govt only backs those who ‘steal’ or take commission and dumps the upright officers.He appealed to ‘upright’ officers not to resort to knee-jerk decisions.A 2022-batch IAS officer, Rinku Singh, sent his resignation to the President claiming that he had been kept in an “attached” position for a long time.He said though he was receiving a salary, he had been denied the opportunity to serve the people.“In the BJP govt, no importance is given to efficient officers. Instead, importance is given to officers who make money through unfair means and then that money is ‘stolen’ or those officers who charge 5% ‘fee’ on investments,” Akhilesh said in a statement on Wednesday.In the political circles, Akhilesh’s statement was seen as a reference to a former IAS officer and a serving one who was initially suspended on allegations for accepting commission from investors but was later absolved of all charges and reinstated.“I appeal to all good officers not to take any decision in an emotional outburst, bad days are about to end. The PDA govt will be formed, and everyone will get due respect. PDA govt will be a people’s govt which will address problems, do away with discrimination and work towards development,” Akhilesh said.“Good officers are needed for doing quality work within a stipulated time frame. We have valued efficient officials and will continue to do so always,” he said.“Be it harassed officials or workers all are with the PDA to oust the BJP govt. Pain (among people) is growing and so is the PDA,” he added.‘BJP’s partiality has shaken biz community’SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said BJP’s ATM of partiality has triggered an earthquake in the country’s business world. “Someone is being deprived of a deal that he had procured through rightful means. Because of this, I am opposing it in writing and many other big business leaders of the country are taking up the issue on paper,” Akhilesh said.
