Lucknow: Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday launched a sharp and wide-ranging attack on the BJP, alleging that the ruling party misuses constitutional institutions and central agencies to target political opponents.Addressing the media at Jaipur airport during his two-day visit, Yadav said the BJP “hides behind institutions when it loses on real issues” and has been “exposed” for allegedly misusing agencies such as the ED, CBI and Income Tax Department for political purposes. He accused the BJP of orchestrating a large-scale conspiracy to delete Samajwadi Party votes using forged signatures on Form 7. “Fake signatures were used extensively to get votes deleted. Even those who cannot sign had forged signatures made in their names,” he alleged, adding that despite formal complaints, the Election Commission failed to take action. He further claimed that the poll body works under BJP influence, citing examples from bypolls in Uttar Pradesh and voter list revisions in West Bengal. “Wherever the BJP faces defeat, votes of opposition parties are removed,” he said.Describing Jaipur as a city reflecting India’s “shared heritage,” former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said his visit aimed at strengthening the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) plank. “Where there is injustice and suffering, there is PDA,” he remarked, accusing the BJP govt of increasing social and economic distress. On the women’s reservation issue, he questioned the delay in implementation until the 2029 Lok Sabha elections and the use of 2011 Census data. “Why not base it on a fresh census? This is another attempt to mislead women,” he alleged.Responding to a question, he also claimed that revered Hindu seers were being disrespected and threatened, stating that ensuring their security is the responsibility of govts.Projecting confidence ahead of upcoming elections, Yadav asserted that the Samajwadi Party would defeat the BJP in Uttar Pradesh in 2027 and subsequently strengthen its presence in Rajasthan. He also expressed confidence that Mamata Banerjee would register another “historic victory” in West Bengal despite BJP efforts.Commenting on Bihar politics, Yadav said many leaders had hoped that Nitish Kumar would retire as prime minister but alleged that “BJP conspiracies” altered his political trajectory.
