Lucknow: Overnight thundershowers and rain brought brief relief as the city woke up to a clear sky, but bright sunshine and moisture made weather hot and humid for rest of the day on Wednesday.Maximum relative humidity was 86% and minimum was 32%. According to the weatherman, for the next 3-4 days, city will experience hot weather, with another thunderstorm or rain likely Saturday onwards when a new western disturbance over Iran is likely to bring a change in weather.Despite thunderstorm in the morning, maximum and minimum temperatures recorded were 36.3 and 19.7 degrees, respectively. As much as 15.1 mm rainfall was recorded at Amausi airport and 7.4 mm rainfall was recorded at Lucknow Met centre control room in Aliganj.“Thunderstorm and rainfall activity was due to cyclonic circulation in north-western part of UP and western disturbance that passed over Pakistan. Another spell of rain is expected after Apr 3 as a fresh western disturbance is likely over Iran, which will bring about a change in the weather conditions,” said Mohammad Danish, senior scientist of the state met department. He said it was humid and hot after the thunderstorm because the storm’s intense rain evaporated on the warm ground, acting like a sauna by releasing trapped moisture and latent heat. On Thursday, it is predicted that it will be a mainly clear sky.
