Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate a week-long theatre festival, celebrating the golden jubilee of Bhartendu Natya Academy at the Raj Bisaria auditorium on Sunday.Officials said the CM will also inaugurate the newly renovated academy complex, including two auditoriums, refurbished at a cost exceeding Rs 22 crore. He will also felicitate noted artists and alumni, recognising their contribution to the institution’s legacy and to Indian theatre.Academy chairman, Dr Rati Shankar Tripathi, and director, Bipin Kumar, said the festival is a celebration of the institution’s journey and a reflection of its continuing role in nurturing theatrical excellence. The event will also see the release of the academy’s publication ‘Rangved’.The festival promises a rich lineup of performances by renowned artists from India and overseas, offering audiences a diverse cultural experience. Plays and cultural programmes will be staged daily in two sessions.According to organisers, performances at the BM Shah auditorium will begin at 3.30pm, while evening shows at the Raj Bisaria auditorium will start at 6.30pm. The dual-slot format is expected to accommodate a wide range of productions and attract theatre enthusiasts throughout the week.
