Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will on Saturday inaugurate the ‘School chalo abhiyan’ for the new academic session 2026-27 from Composite School Shivpur in Varanasi. The campaign will run in two phases: the first from Apr 1-15 and the second from July 1-15.The campaign focuses on increasing enrolment, distributing textbooks and bags to children and raising public awareness through extensive programmes at the district, block and school levels.Along with the CM’s programme, grand events will be organised in all districts. These programmes will ensure active participation of public representatives, teachers, students, parents and various sections of society, aiming to give the campaign the form of a mass movement and connect every child with the school.Director general of school education, Monika Rani said that new textbooks will be distributed to children along with enrolment during the campaign. Cultural programmes, public awareness rallies and addresses by public representatives will also be organised in schools. “Govt wants to bring back all children who are out of school to mainstream,” Rani said.
