Cursor shipped version 3 with parallel local and cloud agent execution, multi-workspace support across repositories, and a unified sidebar showing all running agents in one view. Agents now get an integrated browser tool for interacting with local websites, and a marketplace for one-click installation of MCPs, skills, and subagents. The enhanced diffs interface handles staging, commits, and PR management without leaving the editor. Composer 2, their frontier coding model, comes with expanded usage limits. The framing is deliberate – Cursor is positioning this as the shift from IDE-with-AI-features to agent orchestration surface. Claude Code, Windsurf, and Codex are all making the same bet from different directions: the coding tool that best manages multiple concurrent agents wins the next phase of developer tooling.
