Datadog obtained ISO 42001 certification – the first international standard for AI management systems – covering its Bits AI agents, Watchdog, LLM Observability, and AI Guard products across the full development-to-deployment lifecycle. The certification gives enterprise procurement teams a third-party-verified benchmark when evaluating AI vendors, which matters now that the EU AI Act and US state-level AI regulations are creating real compliance pressure. For Datadog specifically, it strengthens the pitch that their observability stack can monitor AI systems while also meeting governance standards itself. Compliance certifications for AI tooling are becoming a procurement checkbox at the same speed SOC 2 did for SaaS a decade ago, and vendors who move early on ISO 42001 are positioning for the wave of enterprise RFPs that will require it.
