Lucknow: Out of 1,08,935 revenue villages in the state, 95,765 have already been geo-referenced under the Digital Crop Survey initiative to strengthen agricultural governance, govt said on Monday.A spokesperson said based on mapping, digital surveys of millions of agricultural plots have been conducted during both cropping seasons. During the Kharif season, over 53.7 million plots were digitally surveyed and approved, while in the Rabi season, the survey has covered over 55.6 million plots, marking one of the largest digital agricultural data exercises in the country. Alongside the crop survey, state govt said that it has accelerated the Farmer Registry campaign in mission mode to ensure that farmers are linked to govt schemes effectively. According to data from govt of India, UP has around 28.87 million beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. After verification, data for more than 23.13 million farmers has been confirmed. Officials say the adoption of digital technology will improve transparency, streamline implementation of government programmes, and strengthen the agricultural ecosystem in the state.
