Thomas Dohmke spent four years running GitHub and watching Copilot reshape how developers write code — now he’s building the layer that sits on top of all of it. Entire, his new startup, pulled in a $60M seed at a $300M valuation, the largest seed round in developer tooling history, backed by Felicis, Madrona, and Microsoft’s M12. The first shipped product, Checkpoints, is an open-source tool that hooks into Claude Code and Gemini CLI to log what an AI agent intended, what it did, and why. The premise is straightforward: coding agents are multiplying fast, but nobody has built serious auditability into the workflow yet. Every major platform is racing to ship agents, and Dohmke is betting the accountability layer is what’s missing.
