Google Labs added a Photoshoot feature to Pomelli that uses Nano Banana to transform basic product images into studio-quality marketing assets – free of charge in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Upload a single smartphone photo and the tool handles background replacement, lighting, and composition. The target is obvious: small businesses and e-commerce sellers spending hundreds to thousands per product on professional photography. Pomelli already had a generative marketing toolkit, but Photoshoot makes the visual production step nearly costless. Amazon, Shopify, and Meta have all shipped similar AI product photography tools over the past year, and Google entering at a zero price point compresses whatever margin was left for standalone services in this space.
