Lucknow: Thunder showers lashed several parts of the state, including Lucknow, on Saturday evening, providing relief from the humid conditions. Sultry weather, however, is expected to be back on Sunday.According to the weathermen, western disturbance over Pakistan and cyclonic circulation over Punjab was responsible for change in weather conditions. Thunder activity with lightning and light rainfall was reported from several parts of the state. In Lucknow, day was humid with partly cloudy sky, but change started towards evening when dark clouds took over followed by thunder activity, lightning and showers. The city was also swept by winds measuring between 30 -40 Km per hour. Total 16 mm rainfall was recorded at met office observatory at Amausi.Maximum temperature recorded on Saturday was 35.6, which was 0.8 degree unit below normal and minimum was 22.2 degree Celsius, three degrees above normal. The night was warmer because the cloud cover did not allow the ground heat to escape into the atmosphere. “The weather is likely to be stable with partly cloudy sky on Sunday and Monday. Another spell of thunder showers may occur on Wednesday due to a fresh western disturbance over Afghanistan,” said Mohammad Danish, senior scientist at state met department. Meanwhile, rain/thundershowers may occur at isolated places in state on Sunday.
