Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority will launch the IT City housing scheme on Sultanpur Road on Feb 28 with the allotment of developed plots to landowners under the land pooling policy in the first phase.A total of 870 residential plots will be allotted to 336 farmers who contributed land to the project. The allotment will be done through lottery. The draw will be conducted in the presence of landowners at the Indira Gandhi Prathishthan.Plots ranging from 35 sq m to 288 sq m will be offered in the first phase. After allotment to land pooling beneficiaries, the remaining plots will be opened for public registration. The proposed rate for plots for the general public has been fixed at about Rs 4,000 per sq ft.The IT City project is being developed over about 3,500 acres along Sultanpur Road. Eight sectors will be opened in the initial phase. Residential plots are planned in sectors 15, 16, 17 and 18, while an IT hub is being developed near Bakkas village. LDA vice-chairperson Prathamesh Kumar said all landowners who signed land pooling agreements will be eligible for allotment of developed plots under the scheme. The developed plots allotted to landowners will be free of cost as per the policy.
