Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will launch the Varun Vihar housing scheme in June, with around 2,100 plots in the Kailash and Kashi blocks offered in the first phase.The decision was reviewed at a meeting chaired by divisional commissioner (DC) Vijay Vishwas Pant at the LDA headquarters on Thursday.The scheme is being developed over 2,270 hectares along the Agra expressway, with land procured through mutual consent from villages in Sadar and Sarojininagar tehsils. So far, consent has been received for about 853 hectares.LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar said that online registration for the plots will begin after the formal launch.The meeting also reviewed proposals for monetisation of municipal corporation land at 1090 Crossing, Aishbagh, Hariharpur and Atrauli near the Janakipuram scheme. Pant asked officials to examine the feasibility of using the land for housing and civic infrastructure.
