Lucknow: Police on Wednesday issued five preventive notices in connection with a disruption at the Lal Baradari construction site of Lucknow University.Earlier, 13 students had already received preventive notices. The university also issued seven show-cause notices and barred six former students from entering the campus.The incident involved students sitting on barricades near the divyang canteen, raising slogans and attempting to offer prayers in a public space, which authorities said could disturb campus peace. The preventive notices were issued to ensure that university activities continue without disruption.On Feb 21 evening, Muslim students performed namaz and broke their fasts, while Hindu students affiliated to SCS, NSUI and AISA formed a human chain around them.Police have asked five students to appear before the joint commissioner of police (Law and Order) on Feb 26. These students have been challaned for creating law and order issues by staging protests and offering prayers outside Lal Baradari. Authorities said such steps are necessary to maintain discipline, safeguard the rights of all students and staff, and prevent any escalation while preserving campus order.
