Lucknow: Deleted voters dominated the final electoral roll revision in Lucknow district, with over 9.14 lakh names struck off, accounting for 22.89% — the highest in the state — of the electorate as on April 10.Lucknow district has a total population of around 60.4 lakh, of which 30.8 lakh are registered voters. Among them, 16.13 lakh voters are male while 14.67 lakh are female, reflecting a gender ratio of 910, marginally better than Uttar Pradesh’s overall gender ratio of 834.According to constituency-wise data, Lucknow North recorded the highest number of deleted voters at 1.54 lakh, followed by Lucknow East with 1.43 lakh and Sarojini Nagar with 1.42 lakh deletions.In percentage terms, Lucknow Cantt saw the maximum deletion rate at 34.18%, while Lucknow East and North recorded deletions of over 31% each. In contrast, Malihabad reported the lowest deletion at 10.34%. Sarojini Nagar, despite being the largest constituency with 4.6 lakh voters, had a comparatively lower deletion of 23.6%.Gender ratio varied sharply across constituencies. Lucknow East recorded the highest gender ratio at 975, followed by Lucknow Cantt (952), Lucknow Central (950), Lucknow North (934) and Lucknow West (923). Sarojini Nagar, Bakshi Ka Talab and Malihabad remained below the district average, with the gender ratio under 900.“Though Lucknow recorded maximum voter deletion, the top five assembly constituencies with the highest gender ratio were recorded in the state capital itself, including Lucknow East, Lucknow Cantt, Lucknow Central, Lucknow North and Lucknow West,” said Navdeep Rinwa, chief electoral officer of Uttar Pradesh.Youth enrolment showed moderate participation. Under the 18-19 age category, Lucknow registered a total of 39,760 voters. Sarojini Nagar led the tally with 6,182 young voters, followed closely by Bakshi Ka Talab with 5,668 and Lucknow West with 5,958. Lucknow Cantt recorded the lowest youth enrolment at 3,228.The district also has 375 overseas voters and 180 voters aged above 100 years, highlighting the demographic diversity of the electoral rolls. Additionally, there are 22,379 voters registered under physically challenged categories, with Bakshi Ka Talab accounting for the highest number at 3,455.
