Lucknow: A man allegedly killed his two children – a boy, 3, and a girl, 4, — before dying by suicide in Maharajganj district on Sunday night. The incident occurred in the Nautanwa area, where the family lived in a rented house.According to police, Amrish Thakur (35), husband of a sanitation worker posted with the 66th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), allegedly murdered his 4-year-old daughter, Kanchan, and 3-year-old son, Amarendra, before taking his own life. In a suicide note recovered from the spot, he allegedly held his wife responsible for the incident.Additional superintendent of police Siddharth said Amrish was unemployed and stayed at home to take care of the children while his wife worked.Investigators also recovered a suicide note and two video recordings in which Amrish allegedly blamed his wife and several others for mentally harassing him.Based on a complaint filed by Amrish’s brother, police registered a case against his wife, five other named persons, and one unidentified individual.
