Lucknow: A symbolic march was organised at Lucknow University under Janbhavan, Uttar Pradesh commemorating Mahatma Gandhi’s historic March 12, 1930 Dandi March in protest against the British regime’s ‘salt tax’. Students highlighted Gandhi’s principles and significance of the Salt Satyagrah.The event aimed to inspire students and youth with Gandhi’s ideals of truth, ‘swadeshi’, self-reliance and nation building. The march began from Janbhavan and reached the university campus, where a floral tribute was offered at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue outside Tagore Library. The march proceeded to Malviya Auditorium, where officials including the faculty, students and special officer of the governor were present.
