NVIDIA’s second annual healthcare AI survey puts hard numbers on what’s been anecdotally obvious – adoption climbed to 70% of organizations, up from 63% last year, with generative AI deployments jumping fifteen points to 69%. The ROI story is where it gets interesting. Medical imaging leads with 57% of deployers reporting measurable returns, while radiology remains the dominant use case across medical technology companies. Eighty-five percent of executives say they’re increasing AI budgets, and nearly half of respondents are already evaluating agentic AI for research workflows. Worth noting that 82% now call open-source models critical to their strategy, which tracks with the broader shift away from locked-in proprietary stacks that Google Health, Microsoft’s Nuance division, and smaller clinical AI vendors are all navigating differently.
