Reddit started testing AI-powered shopping carousels that surface community-recommended products directly inside search results, complete with pricing and buy links from advertising partners. A small group of US users can see the feature now. The move builds on Dynamic Product Ads launched last year and follows CEO Steve Huffman flagging AI search as a major revenue opportunity during the company’s earnings call. Reddit sits on an unusual asset – years of genuine product discussions that Google’s own results already prioritize through appended “reddit” queries. Turning that organic trust into a closed-loop commerce experience is the obvious play, and it’s one that TikTok Shop and YouTube have been chasing from the content side with far less purchase-intent signal to work with.
