New Delhi: Delhi high court on Tuesday ordered the removal of social media content linking Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri’s daughter, Himayani Puri, to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein within 24 hours.Justice Mini Pushkarna, in the interim order, noted that Himayani had a “prima facie” case in her favour and “irreparable injury” would be caused to her if the content was not removed. The court posted the matter for Aug.The HC also restrained users from publishing or disseminating such content on social media, and said that if users did not remove the posts, the platforms concerned should take down or block access to such content.Calling the allegations a “figment of imagination”, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing for Himayani, said there was an “orchestrated attack” arising from “personal and political malice”. He alleged that the defamatory content was shared even by “self-proclaimed journalists”.
