Lucknow: The state govt has decided to hand over the management of water supply to more than 22,000 villages which have achieved 100% saturation in tap water connections.A ‘Jal Mahotsav’ programme will be organized from Mar 8-22, during which these villages will be declared ‘Jal Arpan’ and will be allowed to independently manage the water supply system.Jal Shakti minister Swatantra Dev Singh will inaugurate the programme on Sunday at the Husainabad Dulahapur Gram Panchayat in Gosainganj, Lucknow.The executing agencies responsible for water supply will continue to handle operations, maintenance, and quality monitoring for the next 10 years.
