Lucknow: State govt said on Friday that it has formulated a comprehensive and well-organised plan for Apr 2026 to ensure the timely availability of fertilisers to farmers. The objective of this scheme is to prevent any potential fertiliser shortages within the state and to ensure the smooth execution of agricultural operations, a state govt spokesperson said.Under the strategy, special emphasis has been placed on ensuring adequate availability of key fertilisers such as urea, DAP (di-ammonium phosphate) and NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus and potash).Agriculture department officials have been directed to ensure the timely supply of fertilisers in every district — ahead of schedule and in accordance with demand — so that farmers do not face any difficulties during the sowing and crop growth stages.Furthermore, committees, headed by respective DMs, have been constituted at all fertiliser sales centres across the state. Personnel from the agriculture department, revenue department and other relevant departments are to be deputed to ensure transparent distribution. The spokesperson said strict action will be taken against anti-social elements who create artificial shortages through the hoarding of fertilisers. The plan also emphasises the need to further strengthen the role of cooperative societies.
