Lucknow: Two more accused in connection with an alleged abduction and assault case in Itaunja area have been arrested, officials said on Saturday. The arrests came days after one person was rescued and three suspects were sent to jail.On Feb 23, Arun Kumar Singh, resident of Bhiraspur village, Sitapur district, filed complaint that a group of men rammed their SUV into motorcycle of his younger brother, Alok Singh, who was riding with his friend, Shanu Pandey. The accused allegedly assaulted the two and abducted Alok Singh and threatened to kill him. FIR was registered at Itaunja police station.
Police rescued Alok Singh after arresting three accused, Shailesh Yadav, Rahul Yadav and Sumit Singh, on Feb 24. The three accused were sent to judicial custody.“DCP North surveillance unit and Itaunja police arrested the remaining two accused, Shivam Yadav alias Pradhan (25) and Divakar Yadav (22), both residents of Khajuri Indara village, from Arjunpur area on Saturday,” said Itaunja SHO inspector in charge Markandey Yadav. SUV used in the crime was also seized.Police said both parties were in dispute for a long time over property and mining of mud in Sitapur.
