Lucknow: Cloudy sky and light rain turned the weather pleasant on Friday. The drop in day temperature by five degrees reduced humidity too.Weatherman has predicted cloudy sky on Saturday as well and possibility of more rains on Monday and Tuesday. The city woke up to cool winds which gradually turned into dark sky followed by light to moderate rain. The maximum temperatures was 30.6 degree Celsius, 4.6 degrees below normal, while the minimum was 22.1 degrees Celsius, 4.3 degrees above normal. The night was warmer as the daytime heat was trapped in lower atmosphere and the ground level could not escape.“A western disturbance hovering over Jammu and Kashmir and a cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan brought light to moderate in several parts of the city. Around 2mm rainfall was recorded at Amausi weather station,” said senior scientist Mohammad Danish. He said this was the second spell of rain in March after March 16. This rain and thunderstorm phenomenon occurred more frequently in this month as the onset of summers was early this year with the second half of Feb giving a feel of May and June in terms of high temperatures, he added .On Saturday, city is expected to have a partly cloudy sky, with maximum and minimum temperatures around 30 and 21 degrees Celsius, respectively. In UP, rain/thundershowers are likely at some isolated places.
