Lucknow: A 20-year-old woman was found hanging under suspicious circumstances in the Madeyganj area on Sunday morning. Her family alleged that she was murdered, while police said that it appeared to be a case of suicide and that they were awaiting the post-mortem report.According to police, Ayan Khan, a resident of Tezi Kheda in the Para area, reached the Madeyganj police station around 7:15 am along with his mother, Noori Khan, and informed officials that his partner had died by suicide at their rented accommodation in Mashalchi Tola. He told police that she had locked herself inside a room and hanged herself. Police teams rushed to the spot, collected evidence, and sent the body for post-mortem. However, the deceased’s family has raised serious allegations, claiming foul play. They said that the woman was married in Kanpur about one-and-a-half years ago but later became acquainted with Ayan through social media. Around five months ago, Ayan allegedly brought her to Lucknow, where they had been living together without marriage, said Madeyganj inspector Anjani Singh.
