Lucknow: The police on Saturday recovered stolen cash, jewellery and other valuables worth nearly ₹30 lakh and arrested three accused in connection with a house burglary in Gudamba earlier this month.The arrests were made by a joint team of the crime branch, east zone surveillance unit and Gudamba police following sustained tracking and intelligence gathering. The case relates to an Apr 15 complaint by Sarfaraz Hussain, who reported that valuables and cash were stolen after the lock of an almirah in his house was broken.DCP of east zone, Deeksha Sharma said the accused were nabbed late on Apr 24 from a forested stretch. “The trio has been identified as Adeebur Rahman alias Addu (24), Zeeshan Ghazi alias Chhotu (24), and Ramji Rajaram Soni (56),” she added.“From their possession, police found ₹1.1 lakh in cash, gold jewellery, metal pieces, rings and four mobile phones. The total value of the items is estimated to be around ₹30 lakh. An illegal .32 bore pistol with four live cartridges was also seized from one of the accused, leading to an additional case under the Arms Act,” said ACP Ghazipur, Anindya Vikram Singh.Police also seized a motorcycle used by the accused during the crime. Officials said the group has a history of similar offences.“Further investigation is underway to identify if the accused are linked to other theft cases,” the DCP added.
