Lucknow: Development projects worth more than Rs 68 crore were launched in Lucknow’s North and West Assembly constituencies on Friday, with foundation stones laid for infrastructure and public welfare works approved under the Rapid Economic Development Scheme.A total of 34 development projects worth Rs 24.37 crore were sanctioned for the Lucknow North Assembly constituency, while projects worth Rs 43.85 crore were approved for the Lucknow West Assembly constituency. The projects have been approved on the initiative of Defence minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh.The programmes were attended by BJP state vice-president Neeraj Singh, mayor Sushma Kharkwal, BJP Lucknow Mahanagar unit president Anand Dwivedi, Lucknow North MLA Neeraj Bora, MLC Mukesh Sharma, MP representatives Diwakar Tripathi, Anjani Srivastava and Praveen Garg, along with party office-bearers, councillors and local residents.According to organisers, 30 of the sanctioned development works will be funded from Rajnath Singh’s MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund, while additional projects have also been approved through the development funds of MLC Mukesh Sharma and Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi.Neeraj Singh said Rajnath Singh envisions transforming Lucknow into a city with world-class infrastructure. He said the 34 projects approved for the Lucknow North constituency would significantly improve civic amenities and fulfil public aspirations.
