Lucknow: In a crackdown on narcotics networks, Barabanki police and the district administration on Saturday sealed immovable assets worth over ₹6 crore in the Begumganj area belonging to a notorious drug trafficker under the NDPS Act.The action was carried out against Misbahur Rehman alias Ajjan, a history-sheeter from Tikra Murtaza village under Zaidpur Police Station.According to the police, the accused, detained under the PIT-NDPS Act and currently lodged in the district jail since Jan 9, 2026, has been involved in drug trafficking for over 25 years, amassing substantial illegal wealth through the narcotics trade.The attached property includes a residential house and commercial market built on a 558.70 sq metre plot in Nawabganj area, registered in the name of his wife, Nagmi Khatoon.The action stems from a long-standing NDPS case and multiple subsequent cases. The accused is listed as a gang leader of an inter-district drug syndicate and has more than 20 criminal cases registered against him across Barabanki and Lucknow, including charges of drug trafficking, attempt to murder, and Arms Act violations.
