KANNAUJ: At least three people are feared to have drowned, while one person sustained injuries after a truck plunged into the Ganga river after breaking through the railing of a bridge in Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj district on Sunday, officials said.The accident occurred while the truck was crossing the bridge.Police, along with local administration officials and disaster response teams, rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident.A search and rescue operation was launched immediately to locate the missing occupants.Rescue teams are continuing efforts to trace the people feared to have drowned.Officials said the exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.A detailed investigation has been initiated, and further information is awaited as the rescue operation continues.(With agency inputs)
