Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police Training Directorate, in collaboration with the National Investigation Agency (NIA), on Tuesday organised a one-day capacity-building programme on investigation and prosecution under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other scheduled offences for police officers across the state.The training programme, held at the auditorium of the Police Training Directorate at the UP Police Headquarters, was conducted under the guidance of UP DGP, and the Director General of Police (Training) as part of the state’s ongoing Capacity Building Training Programme.A total of 42 officers, including additional superintendents of police, deputy SPs and inspectors from various districts and police training institutions across UP, participated in the programme.Primary objective of the training was to strengthen the investigative and prosecutorial skills of serving police officers in handling cases under the UAPA and other scheduled offences. Senior officers and expert trainers from the NIA conducted technical sessions aimed at familiarising participants with the legal provisions of the Act, investigative procedures and best practices in prosecution.According to the Police Training Directorate, the programme successfully enhanced the participants’ understanding of the Act and equipped them with the knowledge required to conduct effective investigations and strengthen prosecution in terrorism-related and other scheduled offence cases.
