Lucknow: A seven-year-old boy was injured after stray dogs attacked him while he was playing in a park on Tuesday morning.The incident occurred around 9.30 am when Siddhant Singh (7), a resident of Srishti Apartment in Jankipuram, was playing with a few other children in the apartment complex’s park.According to residents, a pack of stray dogs suddenly attacked the child, leaving him injured. Hearing the dogs bark and the children scream, some residents came out and shooed the dogs away. After the incident, the boy was taken to a private hospital where he received first aid.Shailendra Singh, father of the boy said, “The stray dogs are menace for the apartment as every other day, some elderly person or children are attacked by the dogs.”Residents alleged that stray dog attacks have become a menace in the area and claimed that several people have been injured in similar incidents over the past few years.Abhinav Verma, animal welfare officer of Lucknow Municipal corporation, said, “We have sent the teams to catch and sterile the dogs. If any dog will be found rabid it will to send of dog centre.”
