Lucknow: To promote early childhood learning Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) kits were supplied by UP govt to more than 20,000 upgraded Anganwadi centres in 2025–26 financial year.The 3 to 6 years age being crucial for a child’s intellectual growth it was considered that access to quality learning materials can strengthen his educational journey. Each anganwadi centre has received Rs 39,000 for ECCE kits, in line with the National Education Policy 2020.The kits include pre-school learning sets, ECCE manual Pahal, annual activity calendar and activity booklets. Storybooks published by National Book Trust and Teaching Learning Material booklets are also part of the package.The objective is to help children learn in a playful manner. Educational toys, colourful charts, puzzles and material aid to cognitive development make learning simple and engaging and help them identify letters and numbers and also encourage social interaction in a learning environment where studies foster curiosity, imagination and expression.State govt is upgrading anganwadi centres beyond nutrition services with improved furniture, safer interiors, better equipment and trained staff, transforming them into well-equipped early learning spaces within villages and neighbourhoods.Officials said recent efforts reflect a long-term approach to strengthening early childhood development in UP.
