Lucknow: Marking four years of public service in the Sarojininagar Assembly constituency, MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Tuesday launched a series of development and welfare initiatives during an ‘Aabhar Diwas’ programme held at his residence in Aashiyana.The event, attended by over 10,000 residents, party workers and supporters, also coincided with his birthday.Singh inaugurated three Ran Bahadur Singh (RBS) digital education and youth empowerment centres, taking the total number of such centres in the constituency to 17. The centres will provide free computer education, digital skills training, AI-based learning and job-oriented courses to the youth.To promote women’s self-reliance, he announced the opening of 10 Tara Shakti sewing centres. So far, 162 centres were set up in the constituency, through which over 1,700 sewing machines were distributed to women.Under the Medhavi Samman programme, 25 meritorious students were awarded laptops and 50 students were given bicycles. Singh also launched the Safe Sarojininagar” road safety campaign, distributing 1,000 helmets among youth and volunteers.A plantation drive was also launched with the planting of Kadamba saplings. Singh also announced the installation of five handpumps in temples across the constituency.
