Lucknow: A protest demonstration was held at Asifi Mosque following the namaz on the occasion of International Quds Day, which coincided with the last Friday of Ramadan. The event was organized by Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Hind and led by Maulana Kalbe Jawad Naqvi. A large number of men and women participated in the gathering.After the congregational prayer led by Maulana Naqvi, participants marched and assembled near the platform of the Bara Imambara. Demonstrators raised slogans and called for the freedom of Palestine and the return of Al-Aqsa mosque to muslim control. During the protest, participants also expressed opposition to the policies of Israel and the United States. Images of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were burned as a symbol of protest.Addressing the gathering, Maulana Kalbe Jawad Naqvi criticized Israel’s actions in Gaza and accused it of committing severe atrocities. He also criticized the role of the United States and expressed dissatisfaction with what he described as silence from parts of the international community.
