Lucknow: A young man was found murdered with his throat slit in an open field in Chinhat on Wednesday. The blood-soaked body was recovered from a deserted ground in Hardasikheda late Tuesday night, with liquor and cold drink bottles found nearby. The deceased was identified as Ritesh Singh, a resident of Kalyani Vihar Colony, Chinhat. He worked as a tiles labourer. Police have detained his two acquaintances for questioning and are probing multiple angles, including personal rivalry and disputes among friends.According to police, Ritesh left home on Tuesday evening without informing his family. His mother said she last spoke to him around 7:45 pm, when he told her he was in Nishatganj before disconnecting the call. After that, his phone became unreachable.Later in the night, local residents spotted him lying critically injured in the Hardasikheda field. He had a deep cut on his throat and was bleeding profusely. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and shifted him to a hospital with the help of a 108 ambulance, where doctors declared him dead.Investigators said a motorcycle found parked at the scene helped establish the victim’s identity. The presence of liquor, cold drink, and water bottles at the spot suggests that the victim was consuming alcohol with others before the incident. Police suspect that an altercation may have broken out during the gathering, leading to the murder.Ritesh’s uncle Sunil said the victim received a call from a friend named Priyanshu on Tuesday evening, following which he left home with ₹200. The family lost contact with him later in the night and began searching, only to be informed by police around 11 pm that his body had been found.
