Lucknow: The PCS results 2024 not only had candidates from UP but also from 10 other states.Out of 932 selected candidates, 92.7% (864) had UP domicile, while 7.3% (68) candidates came from states including Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh.An analysis of other states shows that 20 candidates (2.15%) from Madhya Pradesh, 18 (1.93%) from Haryana, 12 (1.29%) from Bihar and nine (0.97%) from Delhi cleared the exam. Candidates from Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Punjab, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh have also been selected.In UP, district-wise analysis shows that candidates from 74 districts have made it to the merit list. “This proves that talent is no longer limited to big cities but is emerging from every corner,” said a govt spokesperson. The top five districts with the highest qualifiers are Lucknow (8.24%), Prayagraj (5.34%), Kanpur Nagar (4.52%), Agra (3.02%) and Ayodhya (2.78%).Category-wise data shared by the govt shows 357 candidates from the general category, 270 from OBC, 186 from SC, 97 from EWS and 22 from ST have cracked the exam. Notably, eight candidates from the OBC category made it to the top 20. The results also show women ruling the roost. Of the top five, four are girls.Participation of youth from other states shows UP govt’s fairness and transparency in conducting competitive exams, said a govt spokesperson.
