Lucknow: Lucknow University management department teachers conducted a training programme for officials of India Post to enhance their professional competencies, technical expertise, and marketing effectiveness of the department of posts, UP Circle.A total of 164 system managers and marketing executives from districts across Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Agra, Meerut, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Jhansi, Ballia, Saharanpur, Prayagraj, were trained at LU. “We conducted the training programme for system managers and marketing executives from the department of posts, UP Circle. We taught India Post employees how they have to be prepared to face competition from private sector postal services, how they need to work on customer relations, their product development and others,” said associate professor Ritu Narang from the management department, who took the session along with other teachers. She said the topics covered in the sessions ranged from stress management to cyber hygiene and data security, designing social marketing campaigns, managing human-machine relationships, product and business development strategies. The management department will continue to play a pivotal role in bridging academic expertise with real-world administrative and organisational needs through such impactful consultancy programmes. According to management teachers, LU vice chancellor Prof JP Saini revamped the consultancy policy, providing a fresh boost to this policy under which the teachers at the university are being motivated to actively get involved in the consultancy projects in addition to teaching and research activities. Narang explained that the training programme was aimed at enhancing professional competencies, technical expertise, and marketing effectiveness of managers from the department of posts, UP Circle.
