Lucknow: Lucknow girl Pooja Tiwari has secured 7th rank in PCS examination 2024 in her first attempt.Pooja did her schooling from Lucknow Public School’s LDA Colony branch. After completing bachelor’s degree in humanities from National PG College, Lucknow, she did MA from Jawaharlal Nehru University and is currently pursuing PhD from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University.The school congratulated Pooja on its social media handles and website: “The LPS (CP Singh Foundation) family celebrates a moment of immense pride as we congratulate our alumna, Pooja Tiwari (Batch 2015-16, Sector D, LDA Colony), for her spectacular achievement.”Pooja, who hails from Tanda tehsil of Ambedkar Nagar district, attributed her success to the unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement of her parents. Her father Satya Prakash Tiwari is a sub-inspector in Kushinagar.Sharing her preparation strategy, Pooja said her goal had always been to join the administrative services and work for public welfare. She began preparing for civil services after completing her graduation. “Instead of collecting excessive study material, I focused on limited and relevant syllabus-based preparation. The key mantra for my success was studying the defined syllabus and consistent writing practice,” she told TOI.“Pooja’s journey from our classrooms to the elite ranks of state leadership is an inspiration for every student. Her success proves that with resilience and vision, no goal is out of reach,” said LPS manager Lokesh Singh.Besides Pooja, some former students of Lucknow University also bagged good ranks in PCS examination.Preeti Singh, who did BSc and MSc from LU, has secured the 56th rank. “Active recall and passive reading, multiple revision, taking as many tests as one can both at the pre-and the mains level is the key to success in this examination,” said Preeti.Arpit Singh, who did masters in geography from the university, has been selected for the post of assistant commissioner. “All I did was hard work. My success mantra was ‘Don’t cheat yourself, destiny will take you forward’. It’s due to this belief that I have bagged 73rd rank,” Arpit told TOI.Another LU alumna Anamika Bajpai, who studied social work in the university, has made the cut for the post of assistant commissioner.Hailing the achievers, LU vice-chancellor JP Saini said, “The achievements of these students proves the university’s academic quality and discipline. Their success will inspire students. We are hopeful that in the future too our students will continue to contribute to the service of the state and the nation in this very spirit.”
