Eric Trump announced on Monday that Palm Beach International Airport is being renamed “President Donald J. Trump International Airport,” following the passage of a Florida bill backing the move. The legislation was signed by Ron DeSantis, formally approving the rebranding of the airport after Donald Trump, according to CBS News.In a post on X, Eric Trump wrote: “Palm Beach International Airport is now officially ‘President Donald J. Trump International Airport!’ Proud to have played a small role in making this happen.” He also thanked state officials, including Florida lawmakers and Attorney General James Uthmeier, for supporting the effort. The new name is expected to take effect on July 1, though procedural steps remain. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) clarified that airport naming decisions are handled locally and do not require its approval. However, the agency must complete administrative updates, such as revising navigational charts and databases, before the change is fully implemented.Separately, the Trump Organization filed a trademark application for the airport’s new name in February, according to records from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The filing covers a range of travel-related goods, including luggage and apparel. The Trump Organization said the application was prompted by the Florida bill and stressed that neither the president nor his family would receive any financial benefit from the renaming. “There will be no royalty, licensing fee, or financial consideration whatsoever,” the company said.
