Kushal Tandon emerged as one of the most popular contestants of Alliance and his bond with ex-Gauahar Khan’s husband Zaid Darbar was also widely discussed. Now, the actor has broken silence on his comment against ex-girlfriend Gauahar Khan. In an exclusive chat with Times of India TV, Kushal spoke about his viral comment on Gauahar and explained that a simple joke between friends was taken out of context.Kushal Tandon clarified the context behind his comments about Zaid Darbar and said that several parts of their conversation were not shown. Speaking about the comment, “The makers didn’t show the first part. I have my own brand of cigarettes and Zaid has his. Whenever I used to smoke, he would ask me for one, and I would get irritated because I’m like sharing my cigarettes with others. He would just take it from me and start smoking.“He clarified, “Now I make coffee, again I don’t like someone sipping my coffee. Mujhe kisi ka jutha peena pasand nahi. I would keep it for two minutes and he would start drinking it. Then I would make a protein shake, which he also wanted to drink. So I told him, ‘Tujhe toh sirf meri he cheezein pasand aati hai…(You just like my things. Make it yourself).’ I had mentioned many other things but not everything was shown. They only kept that part where I told him that statement. It was simple joke which was blown out of proportion. At the end of the day, when your intentions are clear, everything is fine. If your intentions are right, whatever you say is also understood in the right way because the other person knows where you are coming from which Zaid understood.”He also opened up about his bond with Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar, “Gauahar aur mera 15 saal Pehle tha, hum life mein aage badh chuke hain…(Gauahar and I were together 15 years ago). Life has moved on, and there is absolutely no bad blood between us. I didn’t look at Zaid as Gauahar’s husband. I saw him as a boy who was on the show and had his own character. Anyway, he is a very sweet person, but I did get to see his mischievous side.”Kushal further spoke about his recent meeting with ex-girlfriend Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar at an Alliance party, “We met very normally and there was a lot of warmth between us. I met Zaid and Gauahar with a lot of love and respect. When I was talking to Zaid, Gauahar’s mother was on a video call. She told me, ‘You were very good beta,’” he concluded.For the uninitiated, Kushal’s comment on ex-Gauahar sparked strong reactions online and many trolled Zaid and Gauahar at that time. During a conversation on Alliance, Zaid shared an incident with Mini Mathur and Arslan Goni. He revealed asking Kushal for a cigarette, saying the ones he had were “bekaar” (not good).Kushal responded to Zaid and said, “Tujhe saali, saare meri cheezin pasand aati hai.” (You always like my things).Many felt the comment was directed at Gauahar Khan, whom Kushal had dated in the past.
